The patent-pending Idle Free School Bus Heat System is a complete battery-based idle elimination solution that allows bus drivers and school districts to eliminated school bus idling.
This system captures energy produced by the alternator when a school bus is in motion and stores it in an advanced AGM battery bank. When the engine is off, this independent battery is used to power the system and keep the cabin and the school bus engine warm.
The system is also Idle Free's contribution to EPA Clean School Bus USA, an effort by business, education, transportation, and public-health organizations to encourage policies and practices to eliminate discretionary idling among public school bus fleets.
